Here Are The Youngest Mothers In History And Their Ages

Believe it or not, children under the age of 10 have become pregnant and had children

In rare cases, puberty starts really early. This condition is known as precocious puberty and typically affects girls under the age of 10 years. Therefore, these girls mensturate, get pregnant and carry babies to term. Here are some of the youngest mums in the world (In no particular order).

1. Anna- 8 years, 7 months (Russia)

Anna reached puberty, aged 7 and was raped by a 13 year old neighbour. She had her baby in April 2000.

2. Mum zi- 8 years, 4 months (Nigeria)

Mum-Zi, from Calabar in Nigeria, became a mother aged eight years and four months in August 1884. Her daughter also gave birth at a very young age, making Mum-Zi a grandmother aged 17. Both were part of Chief Akkiri’s harem.

3. Lina Medina- 5 years, 7 months (Peru)

Lina Medina, from Peru, gave birth to a baby boy named Gerardo by caesarean section aged five years and seven months old in May 1939. Her parents thought she had a tumour but when she was taken to hospital, she was found to be seven months pregnant. The baby’s biological father was never identified.

4. H- 6 Years, 7 months (India)

A six-year-old girl, known only as ‘H’ gave birth to a daughter by caesarean section in June 1972 in Delhi, India. She was initially admitted to hospital with what was thought to be an abdominal tumour. She had never menstruated and her breasts were still far from being fully developed, yet she was able to breastfeed her child for 9 months

5.  Yelizaveta “Liza” Gryshchenko- 6 years ( Soviet Union)

Yelizaveta “Liza” Gryshchenko gave birth to a stillborn baby girl in the Soviet Union in August 1934.  The girl died during labor due to an early placental tear. The infant’s father was Liza’s 69-year-old maternal grandfather. The family emigrated after the scandal.

6. Griseldina Acuña- 8 years, 2 months (Colombia)

She reportedly began menstruating at three and gave birth to a baby boy in September 1936, aged eight years and two months. The father is thought to have been a family friend.

7. Hilda Trujillo- 8 years 7 months (Peru)

She gave birth in  December 1957 when she was eight years and seven months old. The baby’s father was a 22-year-old cousin who raped her and was later arrested.

8. Zulma Guadalupe Morales- 8 years (Mexico

Her uncle raped her. She gave birth on January 12, 1993 by cesarean section to a boy weighing 7.04 lb (3.19 kg).

9. Unidentified- 9 years (Rwanda)

An unidentified girl became pregnant after her parents’ houseboy raped her. She gave birth to a boy by cesarean section at a hospital in Butare, Rwanda. The girl underwent breast development at age six and started menstruating at age eight.

10. Unidentified- 9 years (South Africa)

A nine-year-old from Brakpan, South Africa gave birth by cesarean section to a baby at a hospital 30 miles (48 km) east of Johannesburg on March 28th 1966.
