A midnight inferno on Boxing Day, razed a petroleum jelly industry, Bowlis Industries Nigeria Limited, located at the Rafin-Pa area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. It is said that the inferno destroyed goods worth more than N80m at the company, which manufacturers of Vowles and Realine Pomade (Jelly) and perfumes. It was gathered that the fire started around 11pm when power was suddenly restored.
In a similar manner, goods worth millions of naira were also destroyed by fire, which gutted the Baboko Market in Illorin, the Kwara State capital just after midnight today. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 20 shops were completely razed by the inferno which lasted several hours. It was also said that some shop owners kept huge sums in the shop from the sales they made for the day and it all went down with fire. Fire is synonymous with dry season.
